Hello my name is Amanda Kehoe, in my school Sophomores get to select a personal project to work on during the year. I decided to work with LCFA, my goals for my project are to raise both money and awareness for lung cancer research. My intent is to raise money to help LCFA continue to be able to help people struggling with lung cancer, and be able to support their recovery. I also want to raise awareness about lung cancer and things people can do to prevent or lower their risk of getting cancer, things like not smoking, testing your home for Radon, and reducing air pollution all can help lower the risk of developing lung cancer. While I do this project I want to focus on getting accurate information for myself and others to better understand the seriousness of lung cancer. My fundraising goal is to raise at least $300 dollars to donate to LCFA to help them with their important research. In order to raise money to meet my goal I have decided to create a challenge, for every $5 donated to my project I will shoot 25 basketball free throws. Please help me to raise money for this important organization and spread awareness of this deadly cancer.

LCFA's mission is the imporvement in survivorship of lung cancer patients through the funding of transformative science. While raising funds to support lung cancer research, LCFA will raise the public’s awareness and serve as a resource for patients or anyone seeking answers, hope, and access to updated treatment information, scientific investigation, and clinical trials.
