Michelle (Shelley) J. Burthay 61 of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on June 4th, 2025.  Shelley was a loving mother to her Son Matthew and daughter in law Rohini Burthay.  Loving daughter to Judith McCoy. Cherished sister of Cynthia and William Harmon. Loving Aunt to her nephew Jordan and wife Gina Hopkins.  Shelley was also the loving cat Mom, too her two adorable felines Tango and Sansa.  Shelley will also be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephewss, extended family and cherished friends.

Although Shelley had quit smoking 18 years ago she received the devastating news of having developed a very aggressive lung cancer that is usually associated with non-smokers.  Due to the aggressive nature of her cancer we were left with only six months to process the inevitable outcome of her passing.  She was so strong and healthy prior to her cancer diagnosis, making it hard to fathom that it would take her so quickly.

Shelley was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 17, 1963 to Judith McCoy and the late Anton Henderson.  Raised in Kokomo, IN where she graduated from Western High School in 1982.  Shelley was employed with Delphi Automotive Systems of Kokomo for over 30 years. During her years of employment at Delphi automotive she wore many hats. During the COVID-19 pandemic Shelley was instrumental in overseeing the shipments of urgently needed ventilators and ventilator components to several Hospitals around the country.  She worked tirelessly, collaborating with upper management and fellow employees as they shifted to shipping out ventilators instead of automotive parts, to assist in the fight against COVID-19.  Shelley was a dedicated employee who prior to her cancer diagnosis you could have counted on one hand how many times she had called off sick, in over 30 years.  Shelley's favorite pastimes included working in her yard, gaming, reading a good book and visiting with family.  She especially loved visiting her son and his wife in Florida.  Shelley was a dedicated employee, loving mother, devoted sister and  friend who will be missed by those who loved her.  Thinking about you always, until we meet again, sis.
